줌머인을 아시나요?
줌머인은 현재 방글라데시의 행정/통치권 안에 있는 치타공 산악지대(CHT)에 모여 살며 줌머라 불리는 11개의 소수민족들입니다. 줌머인들은 영국 식민통치, 인도와 파키스탄의 분리, 파키스탄과 방글라데시의 분리와 같은 역사적 사건들 가운데에서 분리/동화정책과 탄압에 맞서 독립 혹은 자치와 같은 운동을 해오고 있습니다. 그들 가운데 한국에서 거주하는 줌머인들이 재한줌머인연대라는 이름으로 모여 지속적으로 줌머인의 이야기를 알리는 행동을 해오고 계십니다. 이번 세 번째 듣기-말하기 시간에는 재한줌머인연대의 로넬 차크마 나니씨께서 토커로서 줌머인, 줌머인들이 한국에 와서 살게 된 사연들, 줌머인들의 저항운동에 관한 전혀 모르던 혹은 알았지만 몰랐던 이야기들을 들려줍니다.

Have you heard about Jumma People?
The Jumma People called ‘Jumma’ is indigenous minority composed of 11 different tribes who live in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) governed by Bangladesh now. Through England colonialism, two times of separations between India—Pakistan and Pakistan—Bangladesh, the Jumma People has been making a movement to establish ‘autonomy’ like independence or self-government against segregation/assimilations and oppression challenging their human right. Jumma people have their residency in Korea made JPNK, Jumma People’s Network Korea, and continued to tell their stories. In the third Listening-Talking program, Ronel Chakma Nani will speak about Jumma, their resistance movement and settlement in Korea that you ever unheard or unknown.
